Code of Conduct for Team Managers

2023/2024 season

  • Put the well-being and safety of players above all other considerations
  • Display sportsmanship in all situations, sportsmanship should be contagious
  • Display high standards of behaviour and appearance
  • Wear SSFA branded clothing when attending matches/training
  • Be a good role model for all those in your care
  • Enjoy yourself and in so doing promote enjoyment for others
  • Be responsible for your actions
  • Encourage your supporters to display a sportsmanlike attitude
  • Guide and encourage players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance
  • Respect and uphold the Laws of the Game and discourage actions and behaviour contrary to the spirit of the Laws of the Game
  • Use acceptable and appropriate language at all times and in all situations

SSFA Responsibilities

  • Report any welfare concerns to the SSFA Welfare Officer and the Chairman immediately
  • Report any concern about SSFA Staff conduct to the Chairman immediately
  • Enter all matches that are to be played on the database BEFORE the match day
  • Select a squad for EVERY match via the database. (If this has not been done then a manager may not be able to claim expenses)
  • Never field a player that has not been registered via the SSFA database

If the above code of conduct is not adhered to then the SSFA Executive Committee will reserve the right to take appropriate action including the removal from post if deemed necessary.
